Restaurant Review
Just a girl who loves to eat. Who turned into a mom. Who loves to eat and wants to share the goodness with everyone!
The Local Table - Dos Vientos
🎶 “Sometimes you want to go… where everybody knows your name…” 🎶
And honestly? That’s exactly the feeling we got at DV Local Table
Tucked into the heart of Dos Vientos, this neighborhood gem is the kind of place that makes you slow down, order one more appetizer, and stay a little longer. From the warm garlic bread and cheesy meatballs to the creamy fettuccine, fresh burrata, pizza, and perfectly grilled steak, every dish hit the spot. 🍝🥩🍕✨
But what really stood out wasn’t just the food. It was the atmosphere. Families laughing, friends catching up, neighbors saying hello, and a staff that makes you feel genuinely welcome. It’s the kind of local restaurant every community hopes to have.
If you’re looking for a casual date night, family dinner, or just a place that feels like home, add this one to your list.

Q Sushi - Westlake Village
Okay but… @qsushi is NOT your typical sushi night 🍣✨
This is one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel like you planned something fancy (even if you didn’t 😅). The vibe is modern, moody, and elevated—but still comfortable enough to bring your people… yes, even your kids.
The food? Next level. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully plated, and packed with flavor. Definitely the kind of place where you say you’re sharing… but quietly hope no one asks for a bite.
✔️ Great for date night ✔️ Perfect girls night spot ✔️ Surprisingly kid-approved ✔️ When you just want GOOD food and a vibe
This one’s going on repeat.
📍 Q Sushi – 👉 Save this for your next night out.

Thousand Oaks Pizza Cookery
Conejo Valley moms… I feel like this place lives in all of our childhood memories. 🍕
@topizzacookery is officially under new ownership, so of course we had to go see what’s changed.
Here’s the quick family test: ✔️ Bread basket devoured in 2 minutes ✔️ Kid inhaled an entire plate of spaghetti ✔️ Cozy booth vibes still intact ✔️ Happy hour AND late-night weekend specials 👀
Honestly… it still feels like the Pizza Cookery we grew up with, just with a little refresh.

Bollywood Indian Review
Last night we stepped into Bollywood Indian Restaurant and I swear for a minute I forgot we were still in the Conejo Valley.
Between the glowing red lights, cozy booths, white tablecloths, and the smell of spices drifting through the room… it genuinely felt like we had been transported somewhere far more exotic than a Tuesday night dinner in Westlake. 🌍
And the food… wow.
We ordered a little bit of everything for the table so the kids could try Indian food for the first time ever (a parenting gamble, honestly). But it was a total hit.
🥘 Creamy butter chicken that disappeared in seconds 🍚 Fragrant rice and warm naan for dipping 🥟 Crispy starters 🍯 And for dessert… gulab jamun (little warm dough balls soaked in syrup that the kids immediately declared “dangerously good.”)
Watching the kids try new flavors and actually love them might have been my favorite part. There were lots of “Wait… this is REALLY good” moments happening around the table.
Also fun fact: Bollywood just won Best Indian Food in Thousand Oaks from the Thousand Oaks Acorn, and after eating there, it makes complete sense.
If you’re looking for something a little different for family dinner, date night, or introducing your kids to new foods, this place is a gem.
✨ Beautiful atmosphere ✨ Friendly staff ✨ Food that makes you want to order “just one more thing”

Slate- Camarillo, we are back again!
Okay Conejo Valley… if you’ve been looking for a spot that feels like a date night getaway without actually leaving town, let me introduce you to @slatecamarillo ✨
From the second you walk up, the patio lights are twinkling, the vibe is elevated-but-not-intimidating, and you immediately feel like you made a good decision. (We love that feeling.)
The steak? Cooked beautifully. Rich, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth. The lobster tail? Buttery, indulgent, and absolutely worth it. The roasted potatoes? Crispy edges, soft centers the unsung hero of the plate.
And can we talk about the drinks for a second? That electric-blue cocktail was giving main character energy. Fresh mint, blueberries, stunning presentation and actually delicious (which isn’t always the case when something looks that pretty).
The kids ordered chicken tenders and fries (because… of course they did 😂), and even that looked elevated. Clean plates all around, which is basically the highest Yelp rating a kid can give.
Inside, the lighting is modern and moody with those purple undertones that make everything feel a little bit glam. Outside patio for girls’ night. Inside booths for cozy date night. Bar area if you just need to sit and decompress after a long week of karate-baseball-chorus-soccer life.
Here’s what I loved most: • Upscale but still welcoming • Great for date night OR celebrating something big • Cocktails that are creative and fun • Service that didn’t feel rushed
If you’re planning: ✨ Anniversary ✨ Birthday ✨ “We survived the week” dinner ✨ Or just want to feel slightly fancy without driving to LA
SLATE Camarillo is it.

Zin Bistro Americana
zinwestlake.com
Love! Love! Love, Zin on the lake. Zin is located on Westlake off Lindero Canyon. It’s the perfect place for a date night, girls night out or special event!
We started with the oysters, which I didn’t eat (sorry, ewww! But my friends said they were good!). I had a key lime martini which was AMAZING, so refreshing! For dinner we had the short ribs, because when there is short ribs on the menu, you get them! The chicken fried lobster caught my eye, and I’m glad it did! It was buttery & crispy, creamy- so good! Zin is a great option when you’re in the mood for great food, live music and terrific drinks on Westlake.
Hatch Cafe & Market
We are hooked!
This cute little cafe not only has some of the best food in the CV but the Market area is amazing, the aprons may just be our favorite piece! Well, the chocolate too of course!
If you have a birthday coming up, anniversary, or a special occasion check out the personalized gift boxes!
But let’s talk food...
The Fried Chicken Sandwhich just may be the best in the entire Valley! The ponzu sauce and cucumber sandwich may make you want to order two!
Then they have a tuna that is to die for! The balsamic gives it an extra kick!
Oh, and our FAVORITE item
is the Avocado Toast, the radishes though! You may find us there weekly sitting on the big comfy chair!

Avoholic
If you follow our me over on my IG private account, MOMMAonFIRE, you know I eat avocado toast daily. Every. Single. Day.
I’m addicte, and avoholic. My favorite way to make it at home is, Smashed Avocado seasoned with salt, crumbled bacon, sunflower seeds, balsamic glaze, everything bagel seasoning, balsamic glaze and goat cheese.
It’s has all the flavors I need, sweet, salty, creamy and tangy. Put it on some buttery brioche bread and you’re set.
But I do love all different kinds & when I’m not making it, its tastes better because I don’t have to do the dishes!

Taverna Tony
Step out of the Conejo Valley & into this lively Greek Restaurant that makes you feel like you stepped into the Mediterranean.
With live Greek music, belly dancers and a lively crowd Taverna Tony’s feeds your belly and soul!
Don’t skip:
The Flaming Cheese & Grilled Calamari! We may have ordered two flaming cheeses, it’s just so good!
For Dinner:
The Filet is cooked perfectly and served up with crispy fries!
The Chilean Sea Bass will leave you satisfied with so much flavor!
Dessert:
Get it all!
The Baklava is always a good choice, but the Greek Yogurt may be our favorite, and we didn’t expect that!
Taverna Tony is such a fun restaurant for a date night or dinner with friends! The menu has something for everyone with lots of vegetarian options!

Slate Bistro & Craft Bar
A Hidden Gem! Don’t pass up Slate if you get the chance to have dinner at this delish restaurant, DO IT!
Just off the 101 at Pleasant Valley, this stylish restaurant has something to make everyone’s taste buds “zing!”
Not only did we love the food, but the turquoise booths were super comfy! The soft colors and low lights were perfect for a date night!
Towards the back of the hotel there is a lovely bar area with some bench seating! It would be perfect for a birthday cocktail party!
What we had:
Drink: Blacker the Berry
flor de cana rum, blackberries, lemongrass syrup, lime, egg white
—-yum! This was SO good! The egg white on top definitely added some interested foam!
The Baked Brie
soft-ripened and creamy cheese, apricot compote, brûlée crisp, rosemary, fresh bread
—- I’m a sucker for Brie! The creamy mixed with the apricot! Holy goodness! I’ll take one for me!!
Monkey Bread
Rosemary Monkey Bread with Marinara Sauce
—- This item is seasonal and changes! I loved this one, the marinara was SO good!
California Pizza
prosciutto, charred pineapple, fresh jalapeno
Don’t just skim past the pizzas, they are worth it. The prosciutto in this one was my favorite!
Grilled filet mignon 8oz
blue cheese mornay sauce, cabernet demi, mashed potato, roasted brussels and bacon
—-all of it! The sauces, the steak, the Brussels Sprouts! This one is for sure on my top 5 in Ventura County! We shared this meal and added a Lobster Tail. It was plenty for us!
Dessert!
I always save room for dessert!
Calling all my GF friends, this ones for you!
MEXICAN MOLTEN CHOCOLATE CAKE cinnamon ice cream, churros crumble
——seriously, give me a bowl of those churro crumbles! They are like little crumbles of heaven!

Tabu Shabu
Tabu Shabu is one of our FAVORITE fancy dinners! The food is always SO fresh, I feel like I'm eating healthy but a cheat meal at the same time! They have an adorable patio AND its great for a "special" night at home too! Our kids arent quite old enough to sit on the patio and eat this one so we bring it home for a special dinner at home.
Slice House
Slice House is in the neighborhood & it’s DEEEELISH! 👌 We finally had a chance to try it and will be back very very soon! The pizza was AMAZING, the homemade pasta was scrumptious & the coooookies were a perfect ending!
